One of the most riveting and shocking episodes of the season, " The Ties That Bind," saw one of these Cylon take incredibly dramatic and impactful actions, after someone discovered their secret. The struggle the four hidden Cylons dealt with within the fleet - as they tried to hide who they were from their friends, while also trying to process what it all meant - certainly led to some strong material. The good news was the storyline did at least have a much stronger conclusion, and led to a fascinating turn of events with a group of Cylons under the command of a Number Six model named Natalie. And Kara's seeming descent into mini-madness was a bit difficult to fully invest in and empathize with. Too many episodes were spent following this mission, which looked to be a fool's journey, particularly in the disjointed " The Road Less Traveled." A little went a long way here in terms of showing that the crew were restless and losing morale, rather than the large amount of screen time this got. Kara's storyline in particular took a misstep, during a storyline that had her lead a small ship, Demetrious, on a journey to find Earth. Unfortunately though, some of that momentum was lost in the first few episodes of Season 4. Coupled with Kara proclaiming she could lead the fleet to Earth, this season had plenty in play as it began the journey towards the end. Season 4 began on the heels of some massive plot twists at the end of Season 3 – the revelation that Kara Thrace ( Katee Sackhoff) had somehow returned from the dead and the simultaneous discovery that Tigh ( Michael Hogan), Tory ( Rekha Sharma), Anders ( Michael Trucco) and Tyrol ( Aaron Douglas) were four of the "Final Five" Cylons, something that was as much a shock to them as it was to us. SCI FI Channel's method of splitting the two halves of the season and airing them many months apart make them feel like two different seasons, even though they were telling one big story (albeit with a dramatic cliffhanger in the middle). It's a bit tricky doing a full season review for Battlestar Galactica.
